Blissfully Beautiful.

Green Polka Dot Dress, Lace Peter Pan Collar Dress, Cream Socks, Nude Oxfords: Forever21.
Beige Hair Bow: Modcloth.
Floral Clip on Earrings: Thrifted.

Hello everyone!
Today was seriously beyond beautiful out. I don't think there has ever been a day in January in Ohio where it has been 57 degrees out. I've just about come to the conclusion that I cannot, in fact, understand Ohio's wonky weather...it truly is the craziest!

I am rather thankful for the beautiful weather because with the sun out, I feel so much more alive and happy. I must be completely honest with you all on something. Lately I've been suffering with the in and outs of depression. Depression is incredibly common in my family and it was no wonder I inherited the gene, as well. When I say depression, I don't mean I feel sad about a bad grade or a rainy day, but truly depressed. The kind of depressed where I feel hopeless and defeated. The kind of depression where I just hate everyone and everything even if they didn't do anything to me. The kind of depression where I don't ever want to get out of bed- where nothing in life seems to hold any value or intrigue anymore. It's been a rough past couple of weeks and I truly couldn't tell you why I've been depressed. It just sort of came out of nowhere without an explanation. Hopefully soon this spell wears off and I can go back to be regular Lauren again. I would like that a lot.

Oh, but one thing I have to mention before I go! It was definitely brightening to my spirits this morning when up on my news feed I saw the lovely interview Maria of Avenue M posted of me. Awhile back I answered some questions for a little interview, and she just put together the post. She has me absolutely blushing! Maria and are so similar and I find myself wishing that we were friends in real life... Oh, if only she didn't live in Australia! Anywho, here is the interview if you'd like to check it out;

With much love, Lauren.

Such a lovely little bridge!

I love all of the cute touchs you add into your looks, the bow really adds to the sweetness of the dress without making it too much.

I'm so jealous of your weather, we just warmed up to -24 below from -56 below. 57 degrees sounds wonderful.

Just remember that you'll always have a support system with your followers and blogging friends.

On a lighter note, you remind me so much of Chuck from Pushing Daisies, especially in this outfit.

I'm sorry that things have been rough for you lately, Lauren. :( I'm glad that you're looking forward though!

The moment I saw the thumbnail of this post I loved it. The dress is so pretty and I love the layering!

Why does depression have to be so confusing? I understand what you are going through, and it's just the pits. I just usually waft through the days until it passes and I start feeling like myself again. I hope you start feeling happy soon.

Depression is awful. I suffer with it too, and I know it's no fun. Just try and remember that it wont last forever! Love your blog.

Congratulations on the recognition you received from Avenue M.
On depression, I think, I might have it too. I feel the exact same way you described off and on. You are right, it does not feel good at all. I just try to deal with it by dressing up in clothes that make me feel beautiful...and surround myself with people I love and nature when ever possible.

I love the layering and your hair has been killing it lately! I love the messy pony tail. And yes, today was insane. I wore a strapless dress and no COAT. In Jan, insanity!

I'm sorry about your bouts of depression. Chances are that your genetics as well as your OCD meds are probably contributing to it. I'd def. talk to your doctor about it. You deserve to be super happy!

I can't believe this is two dresses! It looks so lovely layered up like this.
Good luck with dealing with the depression. I've gone through bouts of it before and it's the worst possible thing to deal with. I hope you feel better soon.
Love.

Wow, you look gorgeous Lauren! You are such an expert on taking pictures, I could use some tips from you, haha! The photo of you looking away took my breath away, I thought you looked like a fairy or something.:) And you are most definitely not alone with the depression. I am the slightest bit depressed, but I try my hardest not to show it, because if people found out they would be like "Why? You have everything, and you aren't even bullied!" But its so much more complex than that for me. So many high school kids in my hometown have commited suicide in the past year (well, only 3, but thats a lot to me). Hang in there girl, and remember that you can lean on us. We're here for you, every step of the way. <3

Hello Lauren! I found your blog through your guest post at Avenue M. I love your style and your photos are beautiful. I'm really inspired by what you said about dressing up as a creative and fun way to show femininity and identity. I'll definitely remember on my lazy days when I'm about to reach out for jeans and tshirts!
