Hello everyone!
I've been wanting to do a remix post for this black, structured blazer from Forever21 for quite sometime now! It's definitely the most versatile and most used item in my closet, and a piece that is probably one of my best purchases ever. I've been thinking a lot lately about how I am going to downsize my wardrobe for the tiny closet that I'll have next year, and contemplating what versatile pieces I want to take. This is the first one that comes to my mind! Whenever I'm feeling unhappy with my outfit, this is the perfect throw on piece to pull everything together. It sure will boost up my college wardrobe this fall! I actually wore this blazer today to school, but the weather has just been so awful lately with downpouring rain that I couldn't take any pictures.
I'm sorry for the lack of activity that I've had posting, commenting, and replying back to you all lately. To be truthful I've just felt kind of depressed and down and I'm not sure why. School is just taking a toll on me because of all the stress revolving around my senior paper and I just feel trapped in a place not for me...After submitting my application fee to Kent over the weekend I just feel like, what in the world am I doing here wasting my time? None of my classes are going to help me for my major, and most of them just involve silly busy work. I try not to feel like I want to escape, but sometimes it's so hard because I just hate high school so much. Lately I've been so unproductive and have just wanted to sleep, sleep, sleep...Hopefully things perk up sometime soon!
With much love, Lauren.
P.S. Don't judge me too harshly for some of these photos! Some were taken a long time ago, hehe.

When I was in high school, someone told me that it's not really about the actual content you learn-- you'll either forget it or it won't be relevant at all for what you want to do in your life. It's about learning how to learn, learning how to study, learning how to deal with people :) I know it's not easy, but you're so close to being done! Plus, a belated congratulations on choosing your school, lovely! So exciting :)
Oh dear...I definitely know that "down" feeling. I felt it in high school and now I'm feeling it in college. I think that once I finally pick a major and am taking classes that are relevant to what I want to do then it will all feel much less pointless, but I seriously hate going to school and learning silly boring things. It does get better though, I promise that.
life in a nutshell
I loved seeing how you remixed your blazer. It really shows how versatile they are in your closet. It's sad to say that I don't own a single blazer in my wardrobe. I really need to change that! I really want a blazer in a fun color like pink or green but I won't be able to wear it with everything.
Also I know what you mean about high school. I'm a junior right now and high school is not exactly my favorite place to be. I am however looking forward to college because I like you want to major in fashion merchandising.
Love your blog!

Aw, you look adorable! I love how in every single outfit of yours, you make everything seem like its brand new and never worn before! I would have never guessed that you only had 1 blazer for all those outfits! I'm really sorry you have been depressed, I just got over my little week of feeling sad, and what cheered me up was looking through old pictures, and seeing how far I had really come. That's just a suggestion, but I find that it really helps!
Feel better soon girl <3
I hated my last year of high school too. It just seems like repeats and stupidities I didn't care about! But ah, that is just life. :)
I love your remix posts so much as always. :) This blazer is so nice, it adds a classic touch and makes everything look so put together. :) I love the outfit with the black top and skinny jeans. SO CUTE! :)
What a great blazer! Classic piece can be mixed so often and always look nice1

How can you say 'don't judge me', you are beautiful in everything you do (except maybe as the smurfette- I have a fear of facepaints!!!! But it's me not you!)
Anyway, as a teacher, regarding your comment, "What in the world am I doing here wasting my time?", well you learn discipline, you learnt to see things through to fruition, you show and train yourself in resilience, and we can learn something from every experience, even horrible ones! And the relief will be all the sweeter for the wait! Think that section from Ecclesiastes- "For everything there is a season and a time for every matter under heaven. A time to be born, and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to pluck up what is planted..." etc. Think of this as , There is a time to be patient and a time to just leave.
But I do sympathise, I know the feeeling of, "I Just hate this, I don't want to be here!" Keep persevering lovely girl!
...and I also think Winter and lack of daylight has a LOT to answer for!
Mmm, I went through all lot of the same stuff senior year, it can be a hard one to get through. Good luck and best wishes!
On a lighter note, I love all of your photos, but the one of you in the snow/rain is quite cute! (And I'm really impressed at your eye for photography!)
Wow! At first I didn't even notice what you were remixing because it looks so different. Bravo! And cheer up! The best years of your life are so CLOSE.
I know I told you this on twitter, but this post inspired me so much! I need to get my black blazer out more.
My favourite is with the jeans and heels- I will definitely be trying that!
