This Isn't A Hobby: It's A Passion.

Floral Romantic Dress: Forever21.
Pearl Necklace: Kohl's.
Tan Flats: Thrifted.
Soft Pink Clip On Earrings: Thrifted.
Remember awhile back I did a little post called "I hate you Forever21?" Well,on the wish list I had this gorgeous floral dress that was my absolute favorite. It was romantic, vintage inspired, and so beautiful. I didn't have any money, so I knew I could never order the dress and it would have to just be another one of the pieces of clothing that I fantasize about but never own.
Last Friday my mother went on a shopping trip to Columbus, and she stopped in at the Forever21 there and got me the sailor dress as a surprise, as you all now. Well, two days after on that Sunday I went up to my room to put away some of my clothes, and I was shocked to see the beautiful dress from Forever21 that I had coveted so much on my bed! It was like I was in a bizarre dream of torture because I didn't believe that the dress was really there and was mine! It was mine though and my mom had been planning on saving it for my birthday, but she just couldn't wait! (thank goodness) It was odd too because she didn't even realize that the dress had been on my wish list! She had just picked it up knew it would be something I would love. Mom was sure spot on.

I love, love, love this dress! It's everything I would want. It makes me feel so much like Allie Hamilton from The Notebook, which is my biggest vintage inspiration. I wanted to do a really special photo shoot in the dress, so I went to a local natural preserve in my town called Gorman Nature Center.

Oh boy, was the place beautiful! I haven't been to the Gorman Nature Center since I was a little girl when our class took a field trip probably in third grade. I remember I absolutely hated the place. Bugs, dirt, snakes. Why did we have to take a field trip here again? Returning to the nature center years later, my feelings and thoughts were totally different.

It was like I had entered a heaven of eternal beauty all around me. I didn't even know where to start to take pictures at. There was inspiration every way I went. Romantic lakes. Dreamy fields. Mysterious forests. It was at this moment entering the Nature Center that I knew that blogging is more than just a silly little, time consuming hobby for me. This is my passion. This is what I love. Have you ever just been so excited about something that you just want to cry because it makes you so unbelievably happy? As I stood in the forrest I was suddenly overwhelmed with strong emotion. In the past I always felt so embarrassed when people would ask me what I liked to do, or what my hobby was. I never really had an answer for those people so I would just say, "uh... I play the trumpet." "I've been swimming since I was six..." Their hobbies would always be something cool like flying airplanes or going extreme hiking. Now I'm so very proud of my hobby. I never hesitate to tell people what I'm passionate about, even if most people don't even know what it is! I couldn't have thought I would ever find something I love so much, especially at such a young age. I'm fortunate I found what I love, and I'm looking forward to doing this the rest of my life!

Tell me, what are you're passionate about! It's so interesting hearing about people's passions beccause, well, they're so passionate! Tell me all about them! Every detail! I can't wait.

love the floral print. and the pictures are gorgeous! as for my passions, i am all about global development (economic reform and integration of a market economy into third world nations), the perpetuation of feminism in the islamic world to counter female subjugation, and of course fashion, making it a more accessible market verses pervading elitism (did you hear about givenchy removing runway viewings to maintain exclusivity? - yea, totally don't agree with that).

You look so pretty in that dress. That was so sweet of your mom. And how funny that she didn't even see your wish list.

You look so gorgeous in that pretty dress!! The scenery is perfect, and you fit in so well. This is so inspiring for me-and I'm sure other fashion bloggers are inspired too! My passions aren't going to change very soon I think-music is one of my deep passions-it always makes me happy, swimming is something motivating: every practice I try harder, and fashion is just exciting, fun, invigorating, and it makes me just plain out happy!

I agree with everything you say about blogging!! I find it difficult to post often while I'm still studying, because I very rarely just take a couple of quick outfit shots, I tend to plan my day around my posts, traveling to a location, picking outfits, styling shots and editing photos, it's like a full-time job (but the best job ever!!), I'm so glad other people feel the same way. You can see in these photos just how much you love your blog, they are absolutely beautiful!! I love your dress (what a lovely coincidence too!), and your hair is lovely!!
