The Here and Now.

Coral Dress (worn as a top): Clothing swap, brand is Moonlight.

Purple Beret: Target.
Hinder Flats: c/o Pink and Pepper.
Lipstick in Mark's Coral Fixation.

Hello everyone! ♥

As I said in yesterday's post, I went to a clothing swap and got some lovely items...this dress (worn as a shirt) is one of them! It's a beautiful, 60's inspired shift dress in the most eye popping coral shade. I made it my first pick in the rounds because it was perfect and I've been on such a 60's kick lately. I failed to try it on though and sort of 'willed' it to fit me, and to my disappointment when I got back to my dorm to try it on the worst was true...Didn't fit over my hips :( Darn. I was so disappointed. Although I love my curvy bottom half and appreciate it, sometimes it would just be nice to not have to constantly wear a fit and flare shape. I long to put on a little straight shift and call it a day. I still love this dress though and wanted to wear it in at least one outfit post, so I styled it up as a shirt instead. Alas...I'm sorry it wasn't meant to be my beautiful dress... ♥

Thank you for the advice reguarding my sleepiness in my last post! Unfortunately, it's been something I have already been to the doctor about in the past. They've taken blood to see if it's my thyroid and that hasn't been the case, but they never really did further testing to see what the cause of this unnatural tiredness was. Sometimes it does worry me that this could be a side effect of something greater my body is alerting me to, but I just don't know what it could be. Besides that, it's too hard to pop back and forth to the doctor while up here at Kent on my own. Perhaps I'll try to get it figured out this summer before I go to Italy. Certainly don't want to be tired while I'm there!

Speaking of Italy: I got the official date I'll be leaving! August 17th, just a few weeks after my 21st birthday. To think that it's only six months away to the biggest adventure of my life so far is exhilarating and terrifying at the same time. In our orientation class this evening the travel agent came to talk to us which has things becoming even more solidified. I'm trying not to wish my time away here this semester, but it's hard some-days when I see pictures from the class that's there in Florence right now and how beautiful it is there...and then I'm forced back into reality of a polar vortex here in Ohio. But every season in life has a purpose, a lesson to be learned, and time to enjoy. I'm trying to be more patient and enjoy life here and now! x

With much love, Lauren.

P.S. If you ever ask questions in the comments, I try to reply back to you there as is the case with a question the post before last about my stance on reincarnation. It's just a hassle because I never feel like people see my response, and don't want you to think I ignore your questions. Sincerely contemplating installing discus--I think it would be much more effective.

The purple hat and the orange top are so wonderful together. Such a fun and happy look. And you are just radiant! (and by the way I loved your answer on the reincarnation question. Just happened across it when going back to take a look at that post and it made me smile.)

Oh don't go for Disqus, I hate it!!! Shame the dress doesn't fit!
Yay, you're going to Florence!!! So nice there! Be prepared though-it's hideously expensive!!! Food, drinks and clothes, at least in the main city! X

Lauren! I love your outfits lately! Ah!!! They're all so darling, and daring. I wish I had any sort of confidence to dress myself up like you do. Even though I feel myself shifting over to the hipster end of the trend-spectrum I still really appreciate your outfit choices. Also, I totally get the pains of having awesome curves, it's a real struggle. :)

DON'T DO DISCUS!

It's annoying, people have to sign in just to leave a comment, and it's kind of an inconvenience. I actually avoid commenting on blog that have discus because I don't like how inconvenient it is.
Also, it doesn't alert you of a reply unless you sign in again.

I have the same problem! I have a smaller torso and a more round bottom half, so I can only really wear fit and flare or skater dresses/skirts. It doesn't really bother me, but I can see where that would be annoying, especially in a clothes swap.
