Isn't It Ironic.

Dusty Pink Dress with Bow: c/o EShakti.
Black Wedges: Thrifted.
Floral Blouse: Forever21.

I haven't worn this dress in a really long time. Since January 5th to be exact. I've been contemplating literally for months on how to style it up again. It's just one of those dresses that looks good simply on it's own, with nothing added. But then again, what would be the fun in a piece of clothing if you could only wear it one way? Something tells me this dress won't be coming with me to Kent.

On another note, my classmates get more ridiculous by the day. Apparently this week is 'senior spirit week' or something along those lines. I wouldn't know since I didn't get the memo. I suppose it means dressing up in a ridiculously scandalous themed outfit everyday this week. Today's choice? 'Hick day.' SEW IRONIC considering that I go to the preppiest school in my whole county and it was just an excuse to wear the shortest shorts you own and a sleeveless top. Both against the dress code. I don't know why people think they're so special that they can just go around breaking the dress code. Just because you're a senior doesn't mean you have any special rights to do whatever you want. Also lined up for this week are the lovely themes of beach day, graduation cap + gown day, formal day, and my all time favorite- cross dress day. Which may I mention is specifically stated as not allowed in the dress code handbook? I have some winners for classmates.

One last thing- I need a hair cut. Badly.

With much love, Lauren.

I love your outfit. And you are right about only being able to wear something one way. It is no fun sometimes. I do love it.

Gorgeous dress, dear. Glad to get a closer look at the cool collar. And you are cracking me up with the goings on at school. You're quite a hoot! I was having bad flashbacks to theme days past (and, by me, ignored.) "Hick day"? Haw!

cross dress day? hahaah that sounds like an interesting one.. i feel like most seniors think that they can do anything just because they're seniors, or at least that's how it is at my school. oh and love your dress <3 xx

Cross dress day?
Oh wow...
Aha, I feel for you! Sounds like they're all too eager to break rules just because they're Seniors.
Sigh.
Ah well, this outfit on you is so pretty! Very romantic and beautiful :)

This dress is gorgeous, you look absolutely stunning. Those do sound like the most ridiculous themed days, on the plus side it is nearly over, and then you can look forward to awkward themed days at college :) xo

I know you feel that you're doing the right thing, but try to be a little bit more tolerant and open-minded toward your peers. In the long run, you'll have more friends and be less lonely. If you keep being so judgmental, what's going to happen at college? I'm not saying you should give up on your ethics / morals, but try to be more forgiving.

Try not to view it as though you're compromising yourself, but that you're taking the "love thy neighbor" concept closer to heart.

During Homecoming week and Sweetheart (Valentine's) week at my school we do themed days too. We had Hick Day which was just bleh. But during both of these weeks the dress code is just tossed out the window. Sort of irritating and really dumb.

Your hair is beautiful and they don't need a haircut <3 You're the most beautiful girl ever! Ok I'll be totally indiscreet, but I only do it out of interest: How are things with Matt? And most important, how do YOU feel? <3

That type of thing wouldn't happen in England- we have to wear uniform!
Even in 6th form (senior year equivalent), when you were allowed to wear your own clothes, you'd be sent home if something was unsuitable. We only had a 'School uniform day' as a themed day once!
I do like that dresss!

I lol'd at the theme days. Hick day? Yeah, classy. Cross dress day? No thanks. Are the girls wearing bikinis on beach day? I don't remember my school have alot of that, but I do remember skipping school at least twice to avoid some kind theme day. I think it was pajama day!

I love the neckline on this dress and how unique it is! So cool. I really am sorry that I have been late on catching up on your blog. I haven't really checked blogs in a couple months. I'm so dreadfully sorry. I don't understand why there would be a Hick Day. Isn't that derogatory? Isn't it more proper to say Hilbilly or is that still derogatory? All I know is that my mom's side of the family grew up in parts of NJ and PA and the ones from PA were called "Hicks" and it was mean. Anyway you look beautiful!
