Hello sweet ladies and gents!
I thought in lieu of my upcoming prom this May that I'd do a little 'back to the past' sort of post featuring all of the formal dances I've attended in high school! Looking back at my freshman year's homecoming it makes me smile at how excited I was. I looked at homecoming as my own little chance at a wedding and wanted everything to be the definition of perfection. I researched and thought about my outfit so much I was unbelievably stressed out...about something that was supposed to be fun! It's funny now because I would never in a million years pick out the dress OR hairdo that I picked for that year. Yeesh, that picture makes me cringe the most!
I love all of the dresses I've worn, but the one I picked out for this year's prom is my favorite one yet. I don't know, it just feels so...me. I can't explain it. It's just a dress that is timeless and classic; one that I (hope!) not to look back years from now and say, 'what was I thinking!?' In the next few days or so I promise to do a post on it...I've just been planning on the perfect moment to do a post and show you all! I know, I know I'm ridiculous...obviously I still haven't changed much from my freshman year ;)
But speaking of changing; goodness haven't Matt and I changed SO incredibly much...? We don't even look like the same people! Especially Matt...I mean, he's been a handsome date all of these years but he just looks so much more manly and masculine in the recent ones. Most girls can't say that they've been to every formal dance with the same guy, but I can! He makes the perfect date ♥
Do you all look at your old formal pictures and cringe, or would you still wear the same thing?
Hope you all are having a good weekend!
With much love, Lauren.

I look at my old pics of dresses I wore to dances and big events and think "My god, why'd I wear THAT?"
Love the pink dress!
Also like your freshman homecoming dress! Really cute!

Aw it's so sweet that you and your boyfriend have been together throughout high school! It was also fun seeing your style evolution throughout the years.
Sadly I wasn't into wearing vintage clothing in high school, if I could go back I would wear '50s prom dresses instead of the department store dresses I did wear back then.
Aw, you look so darling in all these photos! I can't wait to see your prom dress!
You look great in all of them!! Especially the Senior Prom one! :)
I love your dress in the 4th one!
Love all the pictures. They are all nice dresses, yet they are very different. You look very sophisticated in the last one, but I think I like the purple the best, probably because it's my favorite color. I didn't go to very many formals. I still like what I picked but it's funny because my favorite one was a thrift shop dress that my mother reworked. She was willing to buy me a new one, but I insisted on her altering the thrift dress. It was quite different from the styles everyone else chose, and I'm sure there were a few people who thought it was awful because it was old-fashioned, but I just loved it.
I love these pictures! You are so blessed to have the same guy standing by your side in all these pictures. :)
My freshman year homecoming dress makes me cringe the most, it just wasn't flattering, a good color, or even pretty. Yick. Although, I do love all my other dresses. Junior year homecoming was my favorite by far, I even wore it for my senior pictures.
Haha, I remember freaking out about my prom dress senior year, wanting something big and expensive and ended up getting a gorgeous dress that fit perfectly at Goodwill for about $10. :)

Ah I loved this post! It's so fun to look back on pictures from dances. I can't say I really dislike any of the outfits I wore, so hopefully you'll continue to like all of yours for years to come!
Also, you had a sophomore prom? That's pretty cool! Only juniors and seniors were allowed at ours.
You look gorgeous in all of these photos!

wow! i love seeing these flashbacks of you and matt. :) and i must say, in the photo from junior homecoming, your hair and outfit reminds me so much of jackie kennedy!!
xx
Here's one high school experience that you have had plenty of! In high school (and in college too!) I never went to a single football game or homecoming dance and I went to prom with a group of friends. It was a ton of fun nonetheless, but seeing these pictures brings me an incredibly bittersweet feeling.
2011 is my fave... You look like a real princess in that beautiful gown! Gosh! How long have you and matt been together? The two of you look so sweet! ♥
We don't have formal dances here, only one semi-formal prom when we graduate from high school. I feel pretty jaleous that you got to dress up every year! eeeek!

You look soooo young in those early photos! But still as pretty as ever! I think my older sister has that first dress!!!
Can't wait to see this year's outfits! I never got to attend ANY of my school proms or parties as I was ALWAYS playing in concerts that clashed, they were always on the same night so sadly I never got to experience that sense of excitement! Though I did get to help dress my younger half-sister for one as she couldn't afford a new dress so I went over to hers with ALL my formal dresses (I have many as a musician!) and she tried them on! It was great fun!
you look stunning in all of them
You look like a princess in all the photos. Being homeschooled myself, I never got a chance to dress up for prom or homecoming!! I think I would have loved it dearly! <3
The only dance I went to was senior prom and I only went because my friend went through a huge long term break up and asked me. I went and it was weird and dumb and we hated it so much we left thirty minutes into it. But on the upside that was the first time I had ever really gotten dressed up. I wasn't fashionable in high school and it sort of changed me. I wish I was more like you. You're so beautiful.
