Dooney and Bourke.

Vintage Dooney and Bourke Purse, Cranberry Blouse, Wool Hat, Black Boots: Thrifted.
Boyfriend Jeans: Aeropostale.
Lipstick in MAC's Myth.

Hello there!
If you follow me on instagram (@passingwhimsies), you'll already know of the exciting thrift find I had while at home this weekend. I've been thrifting for roughly five years, since my first year of high school. Ever since I started, I've dreamed of finding a vintage Dooney and Bourke purse. Perhaps it's their over saturation on the internet that led me for the need for one, or to feel like I had finally hit 'thrifting nirvana' with one of the hardest finds. It may have took me five years...but I finally have a vintage D&B in my possession!

I bought mine for $8, and everything about it is perfect except for the missing shoulder strap. I did some research because I was curious about the background and release date of this style, and the information I came across was really interesting. I found this site which tells all about vintage D&Bs and I found that mine is retailing for around $188 right now...crazy! This style was produced in the 1980's/1990's, but I was unable to find the exact year of make. No matter, I'll love my little bag to pieces whatever year it was made. I was just a curious cat.

Prepare to see this purse a lot in upcoming outfit photos! x

With much love, Lauren.

P.S. It only took me 20 years to realize that wearing pants sometimes is okay.

Congrats on your find :) Vintage D&B's are so fun. Love the color of your top and you look great in the boyfriend jeans. I've also been drawn to pants more lately... maybe it's because there are so many different options and types of pants nowadays than there used to be.

What a gorgeous find! Very exciting. And it took me roughly twenty years to realize how much I really loathe wearing pants! Haha.

It's always so fab when you find something you've always wanted to thrift! I'm still hoping to find a 1950's circle dress with a collar in a second hand shop at a reasonable price but it's a long time coming!x

Lauren dear, you're wearing pants! It's a great outfit, something I wish I could wear on a chilly autumn day.. :)

If you are anything like me, you'll wear Dooney & Bourke to death. I saved up to buy mine (it was $40 at a consignment store, seemingly a lot at the time) for myself for my 14th birthday and it is still my favorite bag 6 years later. The best part about them is the "all weather leather"...they are not lying about that! I'm so glad you found one of your own to cherish.

Hmmm...I'd like to get on-board this hat trend. I'll have to keep my eyes open for some nice hats. :)
