This year I decided to join my school's newspaper staff as something fun to get me out of my shell. The editor kindly asked me to be the 'style & fashion' writer this year and I was super flattered/excited! A few weeks back though one of the editors asked me for some pictures to include with the newspaper article, so I just gave her my blog address so she could pick some out. I was so embarrassed though when I received my copy of the article yesterday though to find that she put my blog address with the article!
It's not that I'm embarrassed of my blog, not in the least bit. I am so, so proud of everything I do here. I just wasn't quite ready for my classmates to have the address because my blog is very personal and dear to me. I write about many deep feelings that I didn't really want my classmates to know about... However, It's too late now to change anything and what's done is done. I'm highly embarrassed and hope that no one actually comes and looks at my blog. It's better kept a secret!
Hope you all are doing lovely though and see you tomorrow :)
With much love, Lauren.

I felt like that for awhile. Then I decided it doesn't really matter..
That would be awkward though.

Oh gosh, I know how you feel! Very few of my real friends know about my blog, but you have nothing to be ashamed of.

Your skirt is a beautiful colour! Very few of my friends know about my blog, I'm not sure how I would react if they all found out.

Oh Dearest Lauren!!! This is the true beginning! You've taken a step in making this blog of yours and it's grown so much on it's own! But now that there will be more people who actually SEE your fashion first-hand, the better the word will spread! Even if it's "enemies" that spread the word, now everyone can actually decide for themselves. As far as your personal life, maybe more people will actually see inside you better. They'll actually know more about you other than just what they see on the outside and in passing. You'll get more judgments, good and bad, but more input is ALWAYS better!!! If they're just jealous, you can always just remove their posts! Don't let ANYONE get you down!!! Just know that before you've been opened up to your own "community" that you've been seen already as a fashion genius!!! Use that knowledge to your advantage!!! Now that everyone will see that you TRULY DO have a gift, more will come to your acceptance!!!! :-)
BTW, that is a GREAT outfit! Though, the skirt (as awesome of a color) paired with the dark tights, make you look kinda stubby. Perhaps a more "neutral" color would remedy that. Not TOO light though or the same effect would occur... :-)
Congratulations! I will also say that you may have no idea how useful writing for your school newspaper will be! So many jobs, even that aren't obviously writing ones, want you to have experience of writing to deadlines etc. so it's a great skill to get.
Also writing about fashion is what you do! It is great that someone at school recognised your talent. You should feel pretty proud.
I know it might be embarrassing to have them read your thoughts but you never know how it might change how people think of you. I expect many people will be very impressed with your photos and your following. :)
I so so so know how you feel!! A couple weeks ago at school a bunch of people started reading my blog and people I didn't even know came up to me and said they read it!! It was highly awkward!! But don't worry, everybody forgets about the URL after awhile. That's what happened to me, thank God!! But you have nothing to be embarrassed about, your blog is awesome!!
I know exactly how you feel. I'm not ready to let people in to my personal life like that. It's weird that I have a blog if I don't people to know my personal life, but it's different. If they do see your blog, I know they'll love it. But it will be a weird feeling.
I wish you the best of luck!!

Oh no! I think I you would of felt the same way you do. I wonder why you were not asked if it would be okay with you to put up your blog address. I just think that editor crossed the line. Not Right...I guess some people just don't think. Anyway, I hope that people don't visit your blog with wrong intentions.

I know what you mean im not exactly ready to share my blog with my class mates , because it's something I love to just run to and let everything out, but Your blog is beautiful and inspiring you shouldn't be embarrassed about it just think of the girls in your school you coud reach out to with your pictures and inspiring messages. There could be someone like you in your school.

Totally understand! All the people that know me who know about my blog found it by accident- I've never told anyone (except one of my sisters). It's surprising JUST how many people have found it though (apparently through googling my name!) random people, my Mum recently, someone at church, my boyfriend's family, people on my PGCE course, people I used to work with - some of whom, when I've seen them sporadically, have said, "I still read your blog!" I'm always slightly embarassed. I think I was most worried about my Mum because she might put it on facebook or something! But you are fab and I am sure that people will be astounded by how fab you are!
That sucks! I feel as if she should have asked your permission or maybe asked you if you'd feel comfortable starting a different "mock" blog to share with your classmates. Similar with outfits, but tips instead of personal feelings. That seems more appropriate, but in other news, CONGRATS! The newspaper is great experience and it makes you a more "legit" style expert.
lovely top & necklace!
p.s. check my blog out! i've got an award for you!
kisses!
I used to be the same way!
Then I casually started linking to my blog via facebook that way it seemed less of a big deal and was just an accepted fact 'Oh, by the way, Amber has a blog. Yeah, you can find it via her fb'.
Let me know if anyone from your school says anything!!! :)
I know what you mean. I still haven't posted my blog link to my facebook. I will at some point when it's a bit more established I would imagine. I don't know what it is about people who actually see you in real life knowing about the blogging.
But hooray for getting to do the style section of your yearbook! We never had a section like that when I was in high school.
