Hello there everyone!
So yesterday my family and I took a little trip to a town about forty minutes away called Utica, Ohio... It just wasn't any little town though: it's the ice cream capital of Ohio! Utica has been the home factory of Velvet ice cream since the 1800's, and it was such a cute little tourist spot to learn about and visit!
They had all sorts of displays set up... One of my favorites being different ice cream cartons throughout the years (my favorite was the 1960's one!). They also had displays of the first machines used to make ice cream, and even all the different scoops that have been used!
There were also tons of fun facts all around to learn about. Like, did you know that it takes a person only 50 licks to eat an ice cream cone? Or how about Americans alone eat enough ice cream to fill the Grand Canyon every year?! Incredible! (And also kind of sickening...)
And what would be a trip to the ice cream capital of Ohio without getting a bite of ice cream? There were 57 flavors to choose from, and I just couldn't decide... So I got a mixture of the extreme moose tracks and the classic buckeye. It was so.stinkin'.good!
I hope you all are doing lovely and have gotten the chance to do fun summer trips in your towns! They really are a blast and such a fun experience. :)
With much love, Lauren.

That was a very interesting and educational day trip for you, Lauren. I can't get over those weird flavors! You're going to need that ice cream to keep cool with the heat wave that's settling into your region this week. Take care, dear friend!
That is far too awesome! Lucky you. I'd love to see this place one day, ice-cream is yummy. When I was a little girl I would always have myself bubble gum ice-cream, I'd love the little gumballs in the end.
Cool fun facts, who would have known! besides the one who do.
Cute first photo.

Wow, that's pretty much my dream day right there Lauren! I love taking little trips anywhere and especially if it includes ice cream (though, not the saurkraut kind. that's just nasty)!
Loving the blog make-over, it looks gorgeous and is so you! xx
Oh my gosh. Moose Tracks ice cream?! That's my favorite!
Haha my dad told me that when he was a kid, he tried dill pickle ice cream. I don't think it was one of his favorites :)
Sounds like a fun trip!
