Hi everyone!

I was just thinking today how frightening it is that after my spring break is done this week, I'll only have about a month and a half left of school before I return home for summer. Like my freshman year, I don't know quite where my sophomore year has gone either. It worries me to be half way done with college because after high school, you know the next step in your plan. Going to get a degree. But from after you get a degree...your life can go in a million different directions. What I'll do, where I'll live, who I'll be with, what I'll make. I'm known to worry too far in advance, but I just can't help but think about these things because they are approaching faster than I realize.

Being home, although I do love it, makes me miss Kent. I miss hearing the train at night and the witty banter my roommate and I have about things. I miss having my evening cup of tea, and walking to the student center every morning to try a different coffee drink at Jazzman's. And I just miss my classes and friends and the life I've built for myself there, and it makes me sad I only have a little over a month left of this year. Because I won't go back this fall...I'll be in Italy, which is a whole other thing to wrap my mind around.

Sometimes I just forget how old I am, but how young I am at the same time. 20 feels both like I've lived through so much, yet I've experienced nothing. It's exciting and terrifying to realize I'm going through the time in my life with the most changes and where the rest of my life will be defined based on these actions I take. Just interesting, deep thoughts that are probably far too heavy for a fashion blog.

So I'll leave you with the question I still ask myself two years after buying this dress--are they apples or peaches? x

With much love, Lauren.

Absolutely love your dress and how you styled it. At first glance I'd assume they were apples but now that you mention it, they could totally be peaches as well haha. When I was in college I was really worried about what I'd do after graduation but so far things have worked out well for me and I'm sure they will for you too. Hope you enjoy the rest of your sophomore year :)

To answer your question...I'm pretty sure they are supposed to be apples because I almost bought this dress and I remember seeing apple in the description, but they really do look a lot like peaches! haha.

As for the heavier stuff... Around 20-22 years old was a time in my life when I went through a lot of change. You experience more after realizing that you are actually an adult now and no longer a teen and you are allowed to make your own decisions. I had a hard time with this since my dad was always so overprotective and I was always on this set schedule and then slowly I realized that I can say no to being home for dinner some nights and I don't have to go to family events if I don't want to. It's both a terrifying and exciting time.

I know exactly what you mean about the difference between the end of high school and the end of college. The end of college means a broader amount of opportunities and a lot more big decisions about your life and where you want it to go. This too is terrifying and exciting. Just always remember to do what's right for YOU and what YOU feel passionate about. It's ok to seek input from others, but don't ever do something to please someone else if it doesn't please yourself because then you'll just be miserable. Don't ever settle! I came out of college with a degree in psychology and thought, well, I guess I better try to get a job in the field, but it just didn't feel right. I wasn't excited to apply. Then I realized that that's not what I wanted to do with my life. I realized that I loved the idea of helping people, and I still want to do that, but that therapy/psych wasn't the field I wanted to do it through. And it's a scary thing when you realize you just spent 4 years of your life (and lots of money) on something you aren't even going to pursue. And then it's like...well NOW what. Eventually, I figured it out and now I'm getting my master's in information and library science and working in a library...which I had realized is my dream job! Well, my realistic dream job. My dream job would be to blog full time and be able to live off of it or to be a super awesome fashion designer or something...lol. Sometimes it just takes some time to figure it out, and that's ok. I've always thought it's a little ridiculous to make 18 year olds choose what they want to do with their lives. They barely have any time or experience to figure it out!

Anyway....this is getting pretty long. You can always chat me up on FB. :) I'm here for ya! By the way...I'm so jealous that you're going to Italy! I would love to go to Europe someday.

Whenever I think about life and my future, it always scares me. I'll be going into my first year at university (hopefully) in the UK where I've never ever been before. Living in Asia, I know that the lifestyle will be quite different. I also have no clue what I want to do with life...and since i'm a person that dislikes change, it's going to take some getting use to :P Life scares me, but a little part of me is excited with what it'll bring (:

Hmm, those look more like apples than peaches to me! It's an adorable dress. :) I am so excited for you to go to Italy. I absolutely recommend undergrads to study abroad--it's the cheapest trip to Europe you'll ever take (compared to how long you'll be there), and it's just an amazing experience in and of itself. I miss Italy so much and I can't wait to vicariously live through you. :)

Oh Lauren sometimes it's just so hard not to be jalous of how fabulous you always look. I mean a berry dress?? Show me the girl that wouldn't want that in her closet! :)

OH the angst I felt at 21 over graduating and having to do something! Actually, that's a lie- I was 22 and it was the year after my scholarship year in Bali! I was SO stressed about it- "What am I going to do with my life?" I constantly stressed at then boyfriend (the one I told you about). He was supportive and gave me ideas (and then the meanie ended it 2-3 months later, as you know!) - I found my way, once I found God!!! Cheesy I know, but true! It'll be the same for you- but you have the added advantage of already knowing him!
Re the dress- they're very ORANGEY for apples- so peaches might be more accurate but today, for some reason, they remind me of strawberries!! I have always loved that dress though- I remember when you wore it with your hair in plaits over your head! I bet OASAP are really pleased they sent you that hat- you're getting loads of use out of it- so versatile!
I've got a tour of the buildings in London on the Thames on my blog at the moment, take a look, since it might persuade you to come and visit next year. Don't worry about commenting or anything as I know you're super busy, but look and be inspired!?!?!!!

I found myself asking the same question about the dress. I own it too and I still think it's a hybrid fruit like strawberry+apple ahaha!
Anyway, you look so cool! I love the jacket and the hat - one of the coolest looks I've seen in here so far x

I think that your dress has apples all over it but I could be wrong.

I'm with you about all this talk about the future. I'm worried about how my life will be after college, and I'm only a freshman! I feel like these 3 years for me are going to fly by because this year sure did.

I know exactly how you feel. Too many possibilities and I have no idea what's next. It's daunting. I'm sure you'll be a-okay though!

Also you look incredibly pretty here in your strawberry print dress. This dress just looks so cool paired with a leather jacket.
