Hello everyone!
Yesterday I went on my tour of Miami University and it was everything that I imagined it to be! The place was absolutely beautiful... All of the buildings are made from red brick and there's trees and greenery surrounding all of the buildings. Miami was exactly what I've always sort of pictured a college to look like. To me the campus seemed huge, but in reality Miami is only a medium size college. The downtown part of Miami was actually built after the college was and was made to accommodate college students. I really loved the down town area! It was the kind of place I always pictured myself living in: quaint and sort of old with a welcoming feeling. After the tour, my family and I stopped by this bar and grille called 45 East and it was delicious! There was a ton of cute little restaurants like 45 East in the town and it was hard to pick just one place to eat at! This is the first college I've ever visited though, so I don't really have another college to compare to Miami. I'm definetely going to tour about 3-4 more before I decide, so who knows if Miami is right for me. The drive was really terrible and I'm not sure that I want to live three hours away from my hometown. That's really the only bad thing I can say about Miami. Maybe I'll find a college that is closer that I like just as well! Also, Miami is sort of known as a party school, but I don't think that should matter since I won't be in on the "party scene" anyhow. Like I said, who knows where I'll end up going. I'm not even officially a junior yet for Pete's sake!

You look lovely!!!
Come on down to U.C. if u want to feel overwhelmed ;) Then Miami will be a cake-walk!
I too live 41/2 hrs. from my parents, but it makes the time we have together that much more special. However, if I had my choice, we'd probably be neighbors ;) i am so happy for you-enjoy this time, it is a very special one.

I remember those days like they were yesterday! Have SO much fun-- college shopping is supposed to be exciting :) Don't fret too much about being far away from your hometown-- my school is a 6 hour drive from my home & it seems like a drop in the bucket after four years. There are aways kids carpooling to wherever you need to go-- I lucked out that there was a good, reliable, cheap bus system that took me from home <--> school, but by my sophomore year I got a car and the freedom to go home whenever I wanted :) Have fun-- and you still have pleeeenty of time to decide :)
