Antique Shopping With The Grandma!

Today I had such a lovely day with my grandmother! We went to a quaint little town about fifteen minutes away to do some serious antique shopping. The town is so small that it just about all fits on one street! It has marvelous places for antiques though. My other grandmother gave me a gift certificate she had for one of the antique stores called Rainbows End for ten dollars. Trust me, I had no trouble spending it ;) I bought myself a new pair of vintage gloves because mine are in terrible condition and should just be thrown away. I also bought a new long pearl necklace to replace my old one that broke a few days ago actually :( It was one of my favorite necklaces, but I'm happy I found a replacement so fast! Finally, I bought the gold, circle clip on earrings. Gosh, they were just too gorgeous to pass up!

Grandma and I were getting pretty hungry by then so we stopped at this adorable little cafe that was also part antique shop. For lunch I ordered the pasta fagoli soup which was absolutely delicious. It came with a salad, too and I'm not a big fan of salads, but this one was so good! After I ate I felt much better and we went and looked around at the antiques in the store/cafe. Grandma bought me another pair of white gloves (thanks grandma!), for they were only $1! Wow, there was this one jacket for sale at the store that was 118 years old!

We were both hungry for dessert by the time we finished looking at the second antique shop, so grandma and I stopped by a little diner to get some pie. I had the best tasting apple pie I've ever eaten... It was warm, gooey and so sweet! There was even a scoop of rich vanilla ice cream that just made it absolute perfection. Oh, and grandma got lemon pie! We then stopped by one final antique store which was my favorite one. It had all sorts of jewelry, purses, gloves, hats, and even some clothes! There was this stunning baby blue, floor length vintage dress. On the bodice it had piles of pearls that were draped almost to look like a butterfly. Oh, my heart aches just thinking about it!

I really had such a fantastic and fun day with my grandma. It was nice to just spend time with her and do something we both enjoy. I'm really looking forward to doing it again sometime soon!
