Hello everyone!

I miss doing more in depth shoots like this one for my outfits. Truth be told, it's not nearly as much fun to just stand in the exact same patch of uninspiring woods every day and go into the same poses over and over again....it's just not as inspiring as going to a place that fits the feel of my outfit and I can become a 'character' (as silly as that sounds). But it's true. It's fun to feel like someone else when I take outfit pictures and to put together photos that I feel proud of.

It's just not plausible during the winter time to take longer shoots like this and to travel different places. I can hardly stand outside more than 10 minutes, so a 20 minute walk to a location itself is definitely out of the question. My campus is super inspiring and has all sorts of interesting architecture to examine and explore and take photos by. I almost always wait until the weekend though to take pictures amongst campus though so that there's no one milling about--it's too awkward for words running back and forth with a tripod taking pictures of yourself, let alone dozens of students coming out of class and watching you do that.

I felt really ambitious to take these yesterday and well, ha, I was a bit too ambitious. It was too cold out to be dressed like this and far too windy-- but I'm glad that I got out and took photos I'm proud of for the first time in awhile. I'm looking forward to going home this coming weekend for my spring break so I can get back to my lovely little hometown forest and do all the adventuring I want.

Simply can't wait! x

With much love, Lauren.

Your outfit is gorgeous!! I haven't taken any "real" outfit photos since last fall--I simply don't feel inclined to torture myself in this cold, but I'm hoping it warms up soon!

I'd definitely like a hat like that!!! Nice location for pretty pictures! I'm interested, how long did it take you to learn to do your makeup like that and how long does it take to apply? x

Not long at all! I just put a shimmery champaign color on the inner part of my eye lid, then a darker bronze gold on the outer. Then I do a cat eye with liquid liner (the hardest part) and finish off with mascara only on my top lashes. For the rest, I fill in my eye brows with shadow and have red blush on. Done! Takes about 10-15 minutes :)

You look so sweet and adorable. The black and red against your perfect skin is magic. Those heart tights are some of my favorite of yours. Shot 4 was very much appreciated and enjoyed :) Thank you so much for that! Enjoy tracking through your home woods wild and free :)

What a wonderful look Lauren! This makes me feel like I might need a red hat in my wardrobe :) The last foto looks like something from a commercial or a movie - it made it straight into my inspiration folder :)

I've been feeling more ambitious about photos lately too - it's easy to get in a rut in winter (especially in an ohio winter). These turned out lovely!

I love your outfit Lauren, especially the tights! So gorgeous! You have a really beautiful campus. Your pictures make me want to explore my own campus.

P.S. I love the title of this post. Madeline was one of my favorite shows as a kid.
