Swing Dancing.

White 50's Dress, Dance Heels: Thrifted.
Pearl Necklace: Gift from my grandmother.
Red Bow Belt: c/o OASAP.

Hello everyone!
So for the past few weeks I've been waiting for tonight because they were having a swing dance in my town! After going to my first one in Kent and loving it I was so excited to attend a second one. So I got all dressed up and invited a guy friend from high school to go with me and....well, it wasn't the most lively dance in the world. It was admittedly 100% older (way older) couples and me and my friend didn't feel too comfortable with our energetic swing dancing among a few slow moving couples.

So we went exploring instead! We headed out to the thrift store and found some gems and then went on a late night run to Denny's. Can I just say that I got the best milkshake I've ever had? Also, $2.69 for an iced coffee folks and some darn good steak fries. What a night.

Things in life might not always turn out the way you want too, but if you just make the best of things it can turn into a lovely evening!

With much love, Lauren.

Oh, I'm sorry it didn't turn out exactly they way you planned, but it seems like you had fun anyway! I know you live in Ohio, I do too, and there is a group called Get Hep Swing which hosts open swing dances in Lakewood and a few other places every month.Their facebook page is: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Get-Hep-Swing/106025259452610?fref=ts. I've gone to a few of their dances and there's a large mix between young/old and experienced/beginners. I'm not sure if you live anywhere close to Lakewood but it's a thought if you wanted to try swing dancing again :)

Haha, I can just imagine how it would feel awkward swing dancing amid elderly people. But hey, way to turn it around and make the night a good one anyway! :)
I love your adorable red belt and your cute dress. You always look so fresh and pretty.

Sorry it didn't turn out as intended but glad that you made some fun of it! I do love that white dress and really really want to get some of those shoes! They only sell black ones and tan ones over here and I really want white for my wedding swing dance!
I've been going to a 2 hour swing dance class every week for the last couple of weeks and it's been great fun! I can see the progress happily!!x

While I'm sorry it didn't turn out how you were planning, I love Swing Dancing and I did some yesterday. So fun! That's the perfect dress for it, too, and I love the lipstick.

Perfect. I love the cut and movement of the dress. So pretty. I've never been swing dancing but it looks uber fun.

I have heels exactly like that from when I was in show choir in high school. Except they're taupe. They're ugly and uncomfortable haha. But, in white, they're cute!

That white dress is so pretty on you, and I love the red belt. It's a shame the dancing didn't live up to your expectations, but it seems like you certainly made the best of the situation and managed to have a good time, even if it wasn't quite what you planned! :)

I've always wanted to go to a swing dance. They rarely have any around here. I'd love to learn how to swing dance at some point, too. I wish there was some sort of lounge or club that was just completely retro and only played oldies stuff. That'd be so awesome!

I love your dress, by the way! Another great vintage find.
