Hello  ♥
I haven't take that long of a blog break in years. I just had to take some time to myself, not because things are stressful in life or anything, more so they got stressful around this blog. Sometimes it just gets too much for me and I get burnt out with posting every day and doing all of the 'duties' my blog entails. I never want to seem or sound ungrateful because that's the last thing I want to be; I cherish this blog with all my heart and all of you who read it. Sometimes I just get so caught up in it that I need to take a step back, breath, and learn to post with ease again. I tend to be hard on myself, making it a goal to do 18 outfit posts this month, get my email inbox caught up, comment on 20 other blogs, and update every single social media I have with every 'interesting' thing I'm doing. I forget that in a way, this blog isn't real life. I mean, well, it is real. I'm real, you all are real, but at the end of the day this computer doesn't talk back to me. Having 1 follower or 1,000 doesn't matter because it's not tangible. I don't have anything physical to show for it; it's all here on the internet.

But I can stay up late reading a really good book. Feel content hanging out with friends and chatting. Spending time with my grandmother and playing Webkinz with my little sister. All of these things are real in a sense that this blog is not. Someone Like You brings me insurmountable joy that a lot of other things in my life couldn't come close to. I just think that making it my everything and forgetting about living my life was certainty getting to me.

Anywho, I am excited and happy to be back! I'm going to ease back into things I hope and not push myself as much. I've still been taking outfit photos (my favorite part of the blogging process) so I have a bunch piled up. It's been disappointing because none are really great quality/ones I'm satisfied with since it has been a constant downpour here in my town. The past three days I've attempted photos and got caught in nasty thunder storms each time! The blogging Gods must really want me to take that break ;)

Thank you as always for everything you do for me! I love each and everything single one of you.

With much love, Lauren.

P.S. If you follow this blog with Google Reader, make the switch over to my Bloglovin' before it closes tomorrow! x

This is like my favorite outfit of yours ever. The end.

I know what you mean about blogging...I've actually taken a step back from my blog to focus on my 'real life'...it is so fleeting and I don't want to waste too much time in front of a screen.
However, I'm so glad you're back! Love your blog. Such a special place you've got going on here.

May the Lord continue to bless you as He uses your talents for His glory!

much love,
Emily

I know what you mean about blog duties. I just take a day off whenever I don't have time. It really helps.

Also this outfit is awesome! I love these colors together so much. Your peplum skirt is wonderful too.

I know as much as I love blogging, it's awesome to just a little time to not blog. And I really love this outfit! It's so you, but very professional at the same time :)

I adore this ensemble. I love not only the color combination of red and light blue, but also all of the lovely feminine detailing, like the collar of your blouse and the peplum! It is simply a gorgeous combination.
Also, I totally identify with taking a break from blogging, we all need that now and then! :)

You look so adorable and very mature! I love that skirt a whole lot. Glad that you are back from your little break. I'm also taking a little break from posting right now - life can just get a little stressful everyone once in awhile.

I absolutely adore this colour combo. It's one of my faves!

Funny - I wrote a similar post about taking a blogging break recently. it seems a lot of bloggers have been going through similar blog identity crises lately. It's good to take breaks.

Trying not to sound like a weird person here but it has failed but still I shall try to brave what I wish to share with you.
I don't have a blog but as a reader it is funny because in a way I have a similar problem. I have been living my life recently through those online. I haven't been able to go out much if at all and have found that blogs have helped alleviate the loneliness and boredom but recently I came to realize (recently being last night when I read your post)that my whole life was becoming an amalgamation of the lives of those I read about. For example I was so unhappy with things in my life that I was trying to be the people I read about, I knew their lives weren't perfect but they seemed better than mine. From the moment I got up until the moment I went to bed my laptop was on and that was how I spent my day living my life through others online, playing online games or searching through online stores often to try and replicate outfits I had seen others wearing. I have been ignoring those in my life who are real and tangible for those I do not know and who I only see a tiny fragment of what they choose to share. I thank you for this post and I hope you can start enjoying blogging again, meanwhile I shall see if I can start living in the real world and going out there and living my life (however rubbish it can be) and sharing it with those I love and care about but who feel the same way about me. Sincerely I thank you and God for this post, He has some funny ways of telling us what we need to hear lol.

I'm glad you listened to what your heart was telling you. You have to cut yourself some slack! I totally understand what you mean. As much as you love everything with this blog, it can get to be a lot - especially because you want to do it well! You should be able to enjoy your summer, and not feel bogged down with your blogging "responsibilities." This outfit is beautiful (and it's been constantly rainy here, too), and I love the light blue and red combination. Lovely as always!

Lovely outfit, Lauren! Those colors are so very pretty together, and I love the detail on the neckline of your top!(:
