Hello there

Sorry for just this one photo today of my outfit. I went out to take these yesterday and was in a rush because I had to get to work, and just couldn't find a good spot to take them. I ended up looking at them when I came home and being super disappointed because none of them turned out good at all; besides the first one I took! The first one is usually the one I end up liking the best always, ha.

I still wanted to document this outfit though for the blog! I have this same dress in teal and thought it would be perfect to get it in red to take to Italy with me...it's super versatile and can be worn as a trapeze dress or belted to make a fit and flare like above. It's pretty easy and breezy and the best part is the shape allows for ample eating; I'll need that for the countless cones of gelato I plan to devour, ha. I'm going to pack it away for now in a container I have of things I'm taking on my trip so I don't style it up all summer and then run out of ways to wear it while in Europe. See you in a few months, pretty dress! x

I've kind of been looking at my wardrobe and trying to figure out how to pack for 4 months out of the country and I'm pretty stuck. It'll be extremely hot when I first get there, but by the time I leave I'll need a winter coat. And then there's all the days in between. What I really want to do is pack my dream wardrobe of beautiful, fancy, vintage dresses to go sight seeing and traveling in....but it's not practical in the least bit. I can only bring so much and I need things that are versatile enough to mix and match so I can get the most outfits out of my wardrobe. Also, I need things for utility. Walking to school and all about town, needing sturdy, good quality pieces that won't need mending or having the fear of ruining them...Oh, and then also there's the fact of washing things. I need quick drying, easy care...so although I want to pack a dozen beautiful dresses, it just isn't practical. So I'm having a hard time balancing things I need to take out of necessity, but that still match the aesthetics that I want.

Hope you all are really well! x

With much love, Lauren.

That dress is gorgeous! Don't you love versatile pieces? And I completely commiserate with you about the photo-taking. Sometimes I can't get one photo to be flattering or focused.

I hope you have a meraviglioso time in Italy!

This dress is so cute! I love the way you used the belt to make it a fit and flare! Also your time in Italy will be amazing Im sure and I can't wait to see you document it. I get the allure to pack cute vintage dresses but I also see how that may not be the most practical, Im sure you'll find the right balance of both. Also remember you will definitely want to buy clothes while you're there so theres that!

Think about not packing the winter coat and just carrying it on as a jacket. It can be a hassle in the airport, but on the plane you can just stuff it somewhere where there's space. (Or use it as a blanket! :D) That'll save you at least a little luggage space.

So excited for you! :)

I'm sure you know this already but def versatile pieces! For the cold- at least a pair of boots and a coat (you can try wearing them on the plane to save space in your suitcase)...but I'm Californian so I'm kind of clueless when it comes to dealing with cold weather ha >.< That's usually how I go about it when I travel. Also keep in mind, you will probably find and want to buy a bunch of cute things while you are abroad so keep your special pieces at home ;)
