Little America Backpack.

Black Knit Sweater, Boots: Thrifted.
White Blouse: Forever21 (similar).
Little America Backpack: Herschel Supply Co.

The 11th of this month will be my six year blog anniversary! How hard to believe... With this recent milestone, I've been thinking a lot about the direction I want to take this blog in. It's hard. Because bloggers are real people and we grow and evolve and our goals & aspirations change. But since I've had this blog so long, it almost feels like I would be a...traitor to long time readers if I were to change up my content style or blog about different things. It's not as easy to change your blog as it is yourself because you become this online persona that people come to expect consistency from based on how you've always been. I just don't want to disappoint people or have people not like the new direction of my blog.

I've felt a lot of shifts in my life in the past year and and especially since I started my senior year. I've really been wanting to put more effort into my content and elevate it. I've just been doing plain outfit posts ever since I started this blog, and sometimes I just want to mix it up a bit and do more stylized posts relating to things relevant in my life. College fashion, lipstick, being from Ohio, thrifting, ect...I want to be more helpful to you all in a way. Instead of just saying, "hey, here is my outfit" I want to evolve more into "here's five ways you can wear those pants" or "this is how I take my outfit photos by myself." In the past, these sort of posts get way less interaction/views than just regular posts...so that's discouraging. I've always been a people pleaser and when I feel like you all aren't pleased with my blog, it's hard for me! But, I know I will not stay happy/satisfied/fulfilled just doing things the way I have with my blog. As I enter the transition from school to the work force, I want this blog to be a showcase of all the talents and skills I learned in college, and a way to dip my foot into the professional world here soon.

I always will welcome opinions, suggestions, and advice as I integrate more personal content into this blog. I will still be doing outfit posts on the regular and writing about my life as always! But really, all that will change is that sometimes (and not even that often) I'll have more in depth informational posts that I will spend more time and energy on.

Thank you to all the longtime readers who have stuck with me through many of the transitions I've had in my personal life and blog the past years, and the new readers who have come in during the midst of uncertainty at times! Love each and every one of you.

With much love, Lauren.

Blarg I feel your pain. I'm like, okay, I could have three different websites for photography, for personal blogging, and for fine art. But is it fair to separate out those parts of myself??

I'm all for you doing new stuff. Go for it! Oooh maybe start vlogging more? I've been thinking about getting into it, though only my mom would watch it, haha. Ugh, can we just both fly to a city to get coffee together or something?? I'm dying over here, haha. Okay random comment over.

I just discovered your blog through The Outfit Repeater.
You are super talented and beautiful! I hope the blog opens a lot of doors for you and I am following along to see you succeed in achieving your New York dream.
I will keep reading no matter what direction your blog takes!
Keep up the great work!

You should do what feels right for you - for what it's worth I think it sounds very interesting, so I would definitely read those posts too!
I love your new hair by the way, it makes me want to chop off my long hair too!

My Bloglovin feed is saturated with 'How to' or '5 ways..' posts-everyone has jumped on that bandwagon so I am sure that you will find plenty of readers who like that plus you'll be talking about things you've learnt properly for your future vocation and you've got a good archive of evidence of 'doing this' to back it up rather than a new blogger who starts writing 'How to' from the start. Plus I'm sure you're thinking as you wrote that, thst you want to impress future employers with your knowledge and undoubtedly will be directing them towards this blog to see these knowledgeable posts as well as the 'Lauren as a person' ones. It is a shrewd move. Why not add some advice to the posts you write.
I'd be interested to read them.of course, even though it is not so much the type of thing that I like best.
Do it for yourself and you'll help someone along the way!
I wish you well Lauren and I'm sorry that I don't comment as much, it is just it can be depressing to use precious time to comment when I'm so busy and I'm just a bit sensitive if there is rarely any response which I totally understand is not your intent, you are busy.

I love the "how to style x ways" posts. I feel like most blogs put so much influence on being a consumer, that it is nice to see creative and inspiring ways to re-use what you already have.
