Why hello there everyone!
I hope you all had a lovely holiday with your loved ones filled with food, happiness, and perhaps some presents, too :) I know I couldn't have enjoyed myself more, and I am just so incredibly thankful for everything I have in my life... On Christmas Eve the pastor from our church, who is actually from Tanzania, came over to have Christmas dinner with my family at my grandmother's house. It was so eye opening to hear all of the strife and horrors he has seen in his life in Tanzania, and how lucky I am to have all that I do. It surely puts everything in perspective!
Anyways, on a slightly more superficial note I took these outfit photos with my new Canon E0S 50 mm f/1.8 lens! Golly, I am so in love... I know you all may not be able to tell the difference in my photos, but I surely can! I'm still getting used to working with the new lens though. It's rather different than my kit lens and I still have a bit of trouble focusing at face/half body shots. I'm sure soon I'll get the hang of it though!
Hope you all are doing lovely...
With much love, Lauren.

Beautiful cape! Glad you had a nice Christmas! <3
What a beautiful outfit and yes I can see the difference too!
I love your makeup in the last pic, so pretty! Beautiful outfit. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas. :)
Beautiful poncho! I love it!! :) Glad to hear you had such a nice Christmas... I did too! It's been a lovely year.
50mm is a nice lens... do you take your photos yourself? I still don't quite have the hang of it!! :)
I can tell a difference! Your pictures make it seem like I'm right there next to you because they're so clear! I love your poncho by the way. I don't have any, but I will definitely look around for some! And I definitely know what your saying about perspective, one of my teachers in middle school is from Sudan, and she sometimes told us about her journey fleeing from the country and hearing gunshots in the distance and just praying that they would still be alive at the end of the day. Happy Holidays! <3
One of my mom's college friends (and still one of her best friends!) has done a lot of work in Rwanda after the genocide there, and she knows this man who survived by hiding in the trees. My mom was able to meet him a few months ago, and it's definitely sobering to hear about what people have been through. He wrote a book about it that I think you'd like: http://www.amazon.com/My-Father-Maker-Trees-Survived/dp/B0058M5ZNC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1325000356&sr=8-1
I surely did notice the difference in your photos! They are so much more clear and beautiful; I always hear that a 50mm is the "golden lens" of photography. :)
Fair Isle. ♥ That poncho looks fantastic on you. :)

Yay! I like ponchos!!!!! You look nice here! Our Pastor is from Zimbabwe and when he tells us about the difficulties they encountered at home, it really does make you value all that you have doesn't it!
(Hee heee, I've done a terrible vlog! Come and have a laugh trying my quiz!)
My friend bought the same poncho on our last shopping spree ^^ she looks just as lovely in it as you do. I wish I had seen it first, haha ^^ x
