5 Current Makeup Must-Haves.

Sometimes it's nice to mix things up a little bit around here! I love doing outfit posts, but doing beauty posts have always been fun for me, too. I love to read others recommendations on their favorite beauty products, so I rounded up my five favorites right now that I've been reaching for every day. x

1. Dermablend Smooth Liquid Camo Medium Coverage Foundation $36.
Around the first of the year I started breaking out really bad. And when I say real bad, I mean the kinda bad you don't want to show your face in public -__- I wanted a heavy duty foundation that was going to cover up the insane amount of hyper-pigmentation, redness, dark spots, and newly formed blemishes. I had a gift card to Ulta, so I thought I'd splurge on something nicer! I've heard great things about the Dermablend brand for their acne coverage, but I have to be careful with full coverage foundations because I have super dry skin. I swatched this smooth liquid camo on my hand and  my face, and was amazed at the flawless coverage it gave me without caking up. The only downside to this foundation is the price for how much you get. I want to repurchase so bad because it's been a game changer for me, but the price is hard to justify!

2. Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara Mini Tube $12.
I've heard raves about this mascara from so many people, so I've always wanted to try it out. I actually got a miniature sample of it in a Too Faced Kit I got for Christmas, and it is sure worth the hype! I usually stick to drug store mascaras because I don't find there's really any difference in quality between them and high end. The Better Than Sex gives amazing volume (what I look for in my mascaras!) and has a nice product consistency.

3. It Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye Concealer $24
Along with searching for an effective foundation to cover my skin problems, a concealer was on my list, as well. I'd actually been using the cult-fave Instant Age Rewind by Maybelline and it does do a great job, but THIS STUFF. I got a sample in my recent Ipsy bag (the full size is $24, not this size!) and I will definitely be purchasing after I use this up. It's quite a thick consistency but I find it does go on really smooth. The coverage is amazing for my dark circles and over my dark spots where blemishes have left scars. To be honest, no one knows I have spot problems when I use this stuff. They're always surprised when I tell them! This concealer covers them that good.

4. Josie Maran Argan Enlightenment Illuminizing Wand $28.
Another Ipsy bag sample and this one is actually full size. I'm pretty amateur at makeup and can never quite figure highlighters out. The ones I do have seem to make my face look more like I played with a $5.99 makeup kit from Toys R Us rather than a glowing goddess. This little stick has been a miracle worker though! It gives me the prettiest, subtle glow on top of my cheek bones and is so easy to put on. No need to get a million products and brushes! This is all you need.

5. MAC Lipstick in Craving $17.
Ya'll know I've been obsessed with MAC lipsticks for quite sometime. I did a collection post a few years back, but I didn't have this color then. Craving is such a lovely shade I love to wear in between all the red lips I sport. The finish of Craving is an amplified cream so it's incredibly moisturizing and soft on the lips. A nice break from all the ultra drying matte shades that are popular right now! The color is so soft but eye-catching at the same time, and I think plum works well as a sort of neutral for a lot of outfits. Highly recommend swatching it next time you're at the MAC counter!

Hope you all enjoyed this! It's been so fun for me to put together different kinds of posts lately. It's given me a sense of excitement again about blogging! x
With much love, Lauren.

I love the shade of MAC's Craving! It looks beautiful on you.
I've been eyeing quite a few MAC lipsticks recently but I can't decide what shade I want next...>.< #toomanychoices

Im glad your mixing it up. Its nice to incorporate beauty items to your post. Ive tried the mascara and it does work really well, but unfortunately it irritated my eyes. I found a really good one that is just as good but natural. Its a brand I found at the local health food store is by a brand called Mineral Fusion is the voluminizing one. It works great if you have allergies like I do. Great Post!

Awesome post!

I've tried looking for a good concealer before as I don't even bother to use the one I have anymore. So I'm might try your suggestion. :)
