Hello ♥
When I first arrived in NYC I felt so inspired by everything around me that I started to write a post one evening to express my feelings. However, I never finished it. I went back and read it the other day and it still describes perfectly how New York makes me feel. I wanted to share it with you all even though I never completed it. Maybe it's good I never finished it. That means my journey there is far from over.
-New York City makes me feel like I can be anyone I want.
-It makes me feel very alive
Because I am constantly seeing the raw emotions of so many people
I see fear, anger, sadness, and happiness through the lives of others
It makes me more a tune to my own emotions
-New York has made me feel like I make a difference
Instead of feeling smaller
I feel bigger
I feel like the things I do make a difference more than ever
A kind smile is more appreciated
The dollar into a cup is valued greater
A seat given up is remembered
And passed onto the next
-It isn't what I expected you know
I thought I would be overwhelmed
Consumed
This city that is bigger than anything I've ever experienced
But the opposite has happened
-New York City makes me feel like I belong
With much love, Lauren.
