Lady In Red.

Red 1950's Inspired Dress: c/o Edressy.
Black T-Strap Heels: Thrifted.

Hello everyone and long time no see!

I wasn't expecting to take a little blog break but this has been the most overwhelming week at college to date. For one of my fashion classes me and two other gals had to design to garment; one completely made from recycled materials and the other reconstructed from thrifted clothing. It's been stressful and a lot of work since all three of us are merchandisers and have no design experience, but we're nearly done! The fashion show is going to be on the 7th and 8th of December and I am so excited to see the looks come down the runway fully styled and on models...I never thought I'd be doing anything like this and I am so insanely proud of myself and my group members. Here are the garments if you'd like to have a peek.

Tonight I'm photographing for a fashion show and this weekend will be filled up with more fashion projects and catching up on all of my work that I've gotten behind on since designing. To say I'm ready for Thanksgiving break to get here and start on Tuesday is an understatement. I am so exhausted.

Okay, enough whining though and onto these pictures! They're actually from a whole week ago and I took them in this dress from Edressy. As my friend Hannah said, if I was a dress this is dress I would be. It's so perfect and encompasses every single element that I love; retro modesty, red, and glamor. I had never heard of Edressy before but basically it's a site that sells prom and formal dresses for much reduced prices. I wish so badly I would have known about this site in high school because I could have gotten some gorgeous gowns majorly marked down! Ahh hindsight. Another thing that really impressed me was this dress was offered in at least ten other colors and they asked for all of my exact measurements to get the fit just right. If only I could go back in time to high school and tell myself about this site for prom, ha! (But just for that moment, none of that other high school business...)

Anywho, I hope you all had a beautiful week! Sorry I wasn't around too much :( And thank you to everyone who entered the three year anniversary giveaway! I'll be drawing the winner this weekend and emailing the lucky lady ♥

With much love, Lauren.

Can I just say that your hair is making me sigh in envy? Jezzz, it's gorgeous looking! I love seeing your on campus photos, Kent has quite a lovely campus. the two gown that your ladies designed are so fun, did you ended up sewing them as well? (The recycled one is my favorite, I keep trying to guess what the skirt is made out of!)

It's really really gorgeous, I'd love to wear this dress too, I love red dresses. I just bought a new red PeterPan collar dress in red which I'm pretty happy with though!
