Beneath the Cold.

Tan Mockneck, Green Hat: Thrifted.
Jeans: Forever21.
Necklace: Vintage.
Combat Boots: c/o Lulu*s.
Lipstick in MAC's Rebel.

I jokingly said on my twitter the other day that my 2014 resolution will be to use up a chapstick completely before I lose it. While this is certainty a good goal, of course I'd like to have a resolution for the new year with a little more substance which has got me thinking lately.

The past two resolutions I've had for 2012 and for 2013 have been big ones. 2012 was to defeat my OCD, and 2013 was to completely forgive my ex boyfriend. I'm proud of myself that not only have I just 'completed' those resolutions, but have done so to an extent that I didn't think I had in me. I fought hard and long to achieve both of these goals, and it's made me realize that whatever I set for 2014 I can surely accomplish if I did so with these (which I thought both were impossible at the time). I'll be thinking about what I want to achieve for this coming year in the next few weeks, and will be sure to let you all know on NYE what I've set my sights on :)

With much love, Lauren.

P.S. Pants! I'm wearing pants! I'm gonna get past three looks with pants this month you guys--it's on.

  11. Look at you, so gorgeous even in jeans. Not everyone can be so bravo for that, sweetie. That sweater catches my eye so quickly as does that beautiful necklace. Picture #3 was so especially wonderful for a non-tights post but, as always, my faves are the closer ones in on that lovely face, especially with that smile that warms my heart to see :) Keep forgetting to tell you, your kind words inspired a blog post from me, that is how much it meant to me :) Not the first time you have been featured on the blog, but the first non-fashion post time. Hope you are doing wonderfully. Many big hugs for you :)

  14. Lauren, you look beautiful. Love this look on you, and I don't think there is anyone else who looks better in hats than you do! I didn't realize you also had OCD (my ex has it, so I can empathize with what you went through to overcome it). Excited to hear what your resolution will be for this year!

  15. I love the cardigan and the hat! That is such a rich colour on the hat especially. Looks like the kind you can put with any outfit to make it awesome. I hope you continue to grow stronger in the coming years and hope perhaps that you dont need such challenging new years resolutions in the future.

  19. I'm in love with those boots and that cardigan/sweater. I've never really thought I could be one to pull off combat boots, but these might be cute enough for me to at least try. Thanks for the inspiration!
