Balmy.

Cranberry Pussy Bow Blouse, Floral Skirt: Thrifted.
Tan Clogs: Target.

Hello everyone!
It wasn't until getting into the sunlight after school this afternoon that I embarrassingly realized that my blouse and skirt matched horridly together. I always put together my outfits at night and my room is rather dark, so I assumed that my blouse and the flowers on my skirt matched... You can't tell in the pictures, but in real life it is awfully obvious that I 'got dressed in the dark.' Sigh, I definitely need some better lighting in my room!

In other news, the weather is still blissfully balmy here in Ohio. Bare legs in February; say what? Oh, not that I'm complaining though at all. This wonderful weather gives me the excuse to make my plethora of floral pieces somewhat okay for this season. If we had snow on the ground...I imagine my florals would look quite odd against the wintery background!

Hope you all are doing wonderful though and had a lovely start to your week! Sorry I haven't anything interesting to say today

With much love, Lauren.

  1. In these photos they look like a perfect match! But I've been there and it sure is weird. My room is also very dark and whenever I go downstairs or outside I'm like OHHH OHH NO.

  2. I think the color of your top matches perfectly with the floral skirt! I understand about colors not looking the same inside as when you step outside though. When that happens to me I tend to realize I dressed a lot more colorful than I intended.

  3. That skirt was an amazing thrift find, it's beauuuutiful.....
I think it goes really well with the red blouse, it's not matchy-matchy, but it does pull out the red in some of the flowers on the skirt, very chic looking.

And I am totally jealous of your bare legs in Febuary.

  10. I applaud you for actually putting your outfits together at night, and also I'm sure everyone at school is half mental when it comes to clothes anyways and wears nothing but abercrombie and aeropostale.. so their opinions on you matching do not matter. :) Love it the outfit.

  11. Wow you thrifted that skirt!? It is so unbelievably gorgeous! It reminds me of the shabby chic style which I love :)

I'm sure you still looked lovely (as you do in the photos) despite the outfit mishap!

  13. Well I think it's still look great together :) I wonder where do you manage to find all these floral dresses, cute blouses and other things with lovely vintage feeling :) I think you definitely found your own style and never go wrong with it. Mine is still a bit mixed one :P One day I want to look like old Hollywood star and the other day I am wearing boots and studded shorts. I have few people inside me.. can't do nothing with it :)

  16. I totally didn't even notice that the colors don't match. Maybe it's just the camera, but they look perfect together. <3

It unseasonably warm where I live as well - not warm enough for bare legs, but much warmer than we're used to. I wear florals year, round regardless, though. I'm not one of those people that has a "summer" wardrobe and a "winter" wardrobe. Except for things like sweaters and shorts, I just wear it all year round. :)
